Stay: Bilateral visa-free ordinary-passport visit: up to 30 days

Conditions: Thai ordinary-passport holders may enter Laos without a visa for a visit of up to 30 days under the bilateral ordinary-passport exemption. The exemption covers short visitor travel and does not itself authorise employment, residence or another regulated activity. Travellers must use a valid ordinary passport, enter through an authorised checkpoint, satisfy Lao border checks and comply with the period granted at entry. Any extension or stay beyond the bilateral allowance is a separate immigration decision and is not pre-added to this rule's 30-day maximum.
