Ordinary Passport
Selected passportStay: Invitation-letter pre-authorisation and visa required; embassy or eligible-border issuance follows approval and the issued visa controls the stay
Conditions: A full British citizen ordinary-passport holder must obtain a letter of invitation from an authorised Turkmen travel agent before seeking a tourist visa. Once that pre-authorisation exists, the traveller may apply at a Turkmen embassy or purchase the visa on arrival at Ashgabat International Airport or an eligible land border confirmed by the sponsoring agency; this is not an unconditional walk-up visa-on-arrival facility. The approved letter, issued visa and itinerary determine the authorised duration, so no universal tourism maximum is inferred from fee bands or processing times. The passport must expire at least six months after the planned departure. A stay over three working days also requires State Migration Service registration within three days of arrival, normally handled by the hotel or sponsor.
