Stay: Visa-free Sweden and Schengen tourism up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the whole area

Conditions: A United States ordinary-passport holder does not require a tourist visa for a visit to Sweden of 90 days or less. As Sweden participates in the Schengen area, the operational ceiling is 90 days in any rolling 180-day period shared with all other participating countries; it is not a separate Swedish allowance and does not restart at the border. The passport must meet Schengen validity requirements, and entry may depend on proof of the trip purpose, accommodation, funds and onward travel. The exemption does not permit employment or residence, and final admission remains with Swedish border authorities.
