Conditions: EU citizens may travel freely to the other 26 EU Member States and to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland with a valid passport. This right is not a Schengen 90-in-180 visitor waiver, so no artificial maximum-stay number is stored. Registration or residence conditions may apply for longer stays, and public-policy, public-security and public-health safeguards remain applicable.
Stay: Travel under EU/EEA/Swiss free-movement rules with a valid national identity card
Conditions: EU citizens may travel to the other 26 EU Member States and to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland with a valid national identity card. A driving licence, bank card or other non-travel identity document is not a substitute. Temporary border controls and national requirements to carry identification may still apply.
