Conditions: Canadian ordinary-passport holders do not require a Korean visa for tourism, visiting family or friends, or other qualifying short-term visits of up to 180 days; the actual permission to stay is granted at entry. Canada's temporary exemption from the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization is currently extended through 31 December 2026, so K-ETA is not mandatory for a qualifying tourist during that period. A traveller may still apply voluntarily for K-ETA-related arrival-card benefits. The time-limited K-ETA exemption is not the source of the underlying visa exemption and must be rechecked for travel after 31 December 2026; paid commercial activity requires the appropriate Korean visa.
