Selected passportStay: Temporary visa-free tourism for up to 30 days from 17 February through 31 December 2026
Conditions: From 17 February through 31 December 2026, holders of regular Canadian passports are included in China's temporary visa-waiver scheme for tourism, business, family visits, exchange visits and transit. An eligible visit may last no more than 30 days; work, study and other activities outside the listed short-stay purposes still require the appropriate Chinese visa. The temporary exemption does not guarantee admission and travellers must meet passport and border requirements. Because the measure has a defined end date, it must not be treated as a permanent Canadian-passport exemption after 2026 unless China extends or replaces it.
