Stay: Visa-free Temporary Visitor entry for an initial 90 days; any extension is a separate immigration application

Conditions: Swiss ordinary-passport holders are covered by Japan's short-stay visa exemption and ordinarily receive a 90-day Temporary Visitor period for tourism. Japan notes a bilateral arrangement under which eligible Swiss nationals seeking to remain beyond 90 days may apply to the regional immigration authority for an extension before the initial period expires. That extension is a separate decision and is not pre-added to this rule's 90-day initial maximum.
